Home | Large Dumpsters
A large dumpster is a roll-off dumpster that you most often see on construction sites or commercial cleanup projects. The largest sizes available are the 30 yard and 40 yard dumpsters. While these are the go-to choices for contractors, they are also very popular for residential dumpster rental, because they are both typically only about 22 feet long. This means they still fit in most driveways, while offering very large capacity for just about any kind of debris removal.
Pro tip: There are usually more of these larger sizes than the smaller dumpster sizes in all serivce areas, so the prices for these sizes tend to be not much more expensive. This is why we often recommend to go with a larger size. It's better to have more room than not enough, especially for a minimal price increase.
Ordering a small roll-off with Trash Daddy is simple:
There are two sizes that we rent that are considered large - the 30 yard and 40 yard. The 40 yard is not typically as readily available as the 30 yard, so check your specific service area page for availability.
Trash Daddy was great! Easy to order, came on time and was picked up on time. Would highly recommend them to anyone needing a large dumpster for renovation.— Shawn LaCombe ★★★★★
I would highly recommend this company. We are in the process of a home remodel and we created a ton of trash. I shopped around and found the prices with Trash Daddy to be the best. I was able to order a large dumpster easily and it was delivered right when they said it would arrive. They automatically picked it up 14 days later. Since construction has been slow, we have had to get a new dumpster several times but the process has always been simple.— Brinda Choquette ★★★★★
Large dumpster prices typically range from $500 to $875 depending on your location, the size, and the type of material you're disposing of. All dumpster costs are ultimately based on weight, but most rentals do not go over the weight limits we set. Most of the time yes. At 22 feet long, the 30s and 40s still fit in mose driveways. However, keep in mind, you'll need at least 30 feet of length clearance because you will have to open the door to load it. Since the dumspter is 22 feet long and 8 feet wide, this means if you have 30 feet in length you wlll be able to swing the door open all the way.
No, not in the vast majority of cases, but it is possible. In our 15+ years in the roll-off industry, it's rare that we have seen damage to driveways. However, sometimes the dumpster wheels can leave scratch marks, and on rare occassions, it can crack the driveway due to the weight of the dumpster and/or the truck. The chances of this increase if you fill a roll-off full of dense, heavy material like brick, rock, dirt or concrete while it's sitting on a driveway. Some homeowners put plywood down before delivery which can help minimize the possibility of scratches.
In most areas no, whether it's on your property or the street. A few cities will require a permit if you want to place the dumpster on the street, or on certain streets (like in busy areas like downtown). Permit requirements and costs vary by location. If you have to place your dumpster on the street, just check with us first. Many times we can handle the permit for you included in the rental, but in some cities you have to arrange it with the city yourself. We can let you know if this applies in your area.
