Weight limit: 3 tons included in price

Good for: large cleanup jobs like kitchen remodels, home demolition jobs, construction debris, cleaning out multiple rooms, or general junk removal when moving out of a home. The 30 yard is also great for furniture removal, appliance removal or other waste removal.

40 yard dumpster

22' long X 8' wide X 8' tall

Holds: 40 cubic yards; or about 14 pickup truck loads (10 tons total)

Weight allowance: 4 tons included in price

Good for: a very large volume of debris removal. For example, estate cleanouts, large remodeling projects, multiple room remodeling jobs, or cleaning out an entire house. The 40 yard is the most common construction dumpster rental.

Tips On How To Keep Your Dumpster Costs Low

Don't block access to the dumpster.

When dropping off or picking up, the driver must be able to easily access the dumpster. If he is unable to, it will often lead to incurring a "dry run" fee, which includes the cost of the driver's visit.

Don't overfill the dumpster.

Nothing can be sticking out over the top of the dumpster. If it's too full it can cause some trash to fall out while driving. Drivers will not to pick up a dumpster that is overflowing for safety reasons as well as local hauling regulations.

If the driver arrives and the dumpster has items that are not level with the top, it can result in a dry run fee. This is because the driver will have to come back after you clear some items off the top.

Remember that with most haulers, each size has a weight allowance, or weight limit.

Be careful what type of material and how much you place in the dumpster. Even small amounts of heavy material like brick, rock or concrete will increase the weight significantly. This will increase your total cost.

Also, if you load a larger sized container with heavy material, there's a good chance that the truck won't be able to lift it. If the driver has to come back, there will be dry run charges.
