Yard waste can take up a lot of space — branches, brush, leaves, grass clippings, and debris from landscaping projects pile up fast. Our experienced team at Trash Daddy can help you get rid of that debris quickly and conveniently so it's not cluttering up your property.
Need to remove some dirt or gravel from your property? Maybe just trim some tree branches and general site cleanup? A roll-off dumpster is the fastest, easiest way to do it. We deliver it, you load it at your own pace, and we haul it all away when you're done.
* Weight limits in some areas (like Las Vegas) are higher. Check your service area for details.
Pro tip: in some areas we have what we call a "12 yard heavy can". This is specifically for heavier landscaping debris like rock, gravel, dirt or sod, and it includes a higher weight limit to help minimize your total cost. Check with us to see if it's available in your service area.
Note: 15 yarders are not available in every area. The 12 yard is a much more common size, and works equally as well.
Pro tip: you can load heavier debris in a 20 yard like gravel or dirt. But if you do, you cannot fill it more than half full to ensure there is no issue with the truck picking it up or hauling it.
You can read more about different dumpsters sizes on our sizes page, as well as see some pictures.

I called several different trash companies looking for a roll off to have in my back yard for 2 weeks while I cleaned tons of stuff around my property—like an old washer and dryer, 2 old exercise equipments, etc. Not only was Trash Daddy cheaper than ALL the others I called, the gal who answered the phone was super nice. When I called back to book, the guy was super pleasant and knowledgeable about my property, and made sure he knew exactly where I wanted it placed. They were punctual when they dropped it off, and punctual when picking it up. I will never use anyone else again. I highly recommend this company!— Betsy Jackson ★★★★★
Dumpster was perfect for what we needed! Having it for 2 weeks as part of the base price was awesome! It allowed us to do things over a couple weekends and not rush to complete our cleanup. I would recommend Trash Daddy to anyone who needs to do some spring cleaning!— Curt Ambroso ★★★★★
Landscaping projects often involve heavy materials like dirt, gravel, rock, and sod. These materials weigh significantly more than branches or leaves. For example, from our Material Weights page, you will notice that one cubic yard of loose gravel and rock weighs about 1,000 lbs (half a ton). This means weight limits become important to consider.
For heavy landscaping debris, we recommend:
Pro tip: While dirt, sod, and gravel are some of the heaviest dumpster debris types, tree branches and brush are the lightest. If you're mixing heavy debris with lighter yard waste, consider getting two separate dumpsters to help minimize your total cost.
Not sure what works best for your project? Give us a call and we'll help you minimize overweight charges while keeping your total cost as low as possible.
Yard waste dumpster rentals typically range from $395 to $650 depending on the size and your location, not counting when or if there are extra weight charges. The exact price depends on the dumpster size you choose and where you're located. For more detail on dumpster prices, check our Dumpster Pricing page or book online now for immediate prices in your zip code.
Maybe - it depends on how much you have. Most city residential trash haulers only take a few bags or very small branches. If you’ve got piles of debris, large branches, or heavy debris, no, a weekly trash service will NOT take that material. In those cases, a yard waste dumpster rental is the easiest way to get it all gone at once.
The rental period varies by location (typically 7-14 days). Yard cleanup projects often take time since you're working on weekends or around weather, so you can extend the rental for a small daily fee if you need more time. See your service area page for specific details.
It's rare, but dumpsters can potentially leave marks on some driveways. If you're concerned, you can put plywood down to help protect your surface. We place dumpsters on driveways and streets all the time without any issues. In a yard, however, a dumpster delivery will definitely leave impressions or marks. If you have a lawn, it will be damaged. Remember this especially if you have underground sprinkler systems. Sprinkler heads and lines can be damaged if the truck drives over them. Roll-off trucks are heavy, and the dumpsters are too, even without heavy material loaded in them, and no hauler can control damage that occurs from the weight of the trucks or dumpsters. We do not recommend placing dumpsters in yards for this reason; although we will sometimes do it (case by case), as long as you are aware of the risks.
For small yard cleanups or trimming a few trees, a 12 yard works well, and it's probably the most common size for landscaping type jobs. For seasonal cleanups or storm debris, a 15 yard or 20 yard is typically best. For large landscaping projects or commercial work, a 20 yard or larger is usually needed. If you're unsure, give us a call and we'll help you estimate based on what you're clearing.
