Home | Roll-Off Dumpster Rental
A roll-off dumpster is a large, rectangular waste container that "rolls off" the back of a large commercial delivery truck. Unlike commercial dumpsters behind businesses or apartment complexes that are serviced weekly by a local trash service, roll-offs are temporary containers with set rental periods designed for construction sites, driveways, and residential properties. They have an open top, sometimes called "open top dumpsters", for easy loading and all sizes include a rear door that swings open for walk-in access.
It takes just a couple minutes to place an order, and we tell you what to expect up front. The entire process is straightforward from start to finish. No hidden fees, no surprises.

We make renting a roll-off dumpster simple:
For customers that need more capacity than traditional a smaller front-load dumpsters (the small, square dumpsters you see outside businesses or apartment complexes) but want the convenience of ongoing service, a yard can (also called a commercial roll-off) is the ideal solution. Yard cans are roll-off containers that remain on-site and are swapped out when full or on a scheduled basis, usually within a 30-day maximum rental period.
Yard cans are particularly popular with retailers, HVAC companies, and home improvement contractors, or apartment building owners that tend to have more significant waste volumes. Yard cans provide substantially more capacity and flexibility than the smaller bins, making them a cost-effective option for customers with a lot of ongoing trash.
Common yard can sizes include 12-yard, 20-yard, and 30-yard containers, allowing our customers to choose the capacity that best matches their needs.

Service is off the charts! They had great customer service and the time it took to get a new roll off out to the construction site was usually 24 hours or less. Their drivers were very capable to get into tight spots - and professional when talking to my staff or others around the area.— Hunter Higgs ★★★★★
Great experience! Early morning drop off, placed exactly where requested, on time pick up. Everyone I spoke with from office staff to driver was polite and friendly. Pricing was below market and I was given more time than other companies were offering. I will only use Trash Daddy for my future roll-off needs.— Kristen Allen ★★★★★
Roll-off dumpsters are ideal for any project that generates more waste than your regular weekly trash pickup can handle. Common uses include:
If your project will take more than a day or two and you need a container on-site while you work, a roll-off dumpster is the right solution. They're designed to sit in one location for days or weeks, unlike junk removal services that load and leave immediately. You can fill them at your own pace. And when you are done, we come pick it up and take care of disposal. All for one low flat rate price.
Roll-off dumpster prices average from $395 to $875 in most areas. But prices vary depending on location, size and type of material (mostly). All dumpster costs are ultimately based on the weight of the material loaded into them. So heavy material (like concrete, rock, brick, or dirt) will cost more for disposal.
When it comes to roll-off dumpsters, we often tell customers "bigger is usually better". Of course the size depends on the size of your project, and by the space you have for placement of the dumpster. But many people think that you can rent a smaller size and save a signficant amount of money vs a larger size, and that is simply not true. Dumpster prices are mostly determined by the cost to run the trucks and local costs like fuel and landfill prices. So the price difference between sizes is often minimal. This is why we recommend to go with a large dumpster size most of the time.
Larger sizes (like a 20 yard or 30 yard) are much more readily available in most areas.
It's better to have more room and not need it than run out of space and have to rent another dumpster, or deal with the headache of disposing of the remaining debris yourself.
You can view pictures and dimensions of all sizes on our sizes page.
It depends on how you define "regular". Most people that search for "dumpster rental" are looking for a roll-off dumpster, whether they know it or not. And most companies that advertises dumpster rental services are referring to roll-offs. That is a temporary container that is rented for a short period of time, dropped off and picked up after its filled. But there are also commercial dumpster rentals, which are the smaller 3 yard to 8 yard square dumpsters that sit behind businesses or apartment complexes. Those are serviced and provided by local trash providers, typically large national companies.
No, not in the vast majority of cases, but it is possible. In our 15+ years in the roll-off industry, it's rare that we have seen damage to driveways. However, sometimes the dumpster wheels can leave scratch marks, and on rare occassions, it can crack the driveway due to the weight of the dumpster and/or the truck. The chances of this increase if you fill a roll-off full of dense, heavy material like brick, rock, dirt or concrete while it's sitting on a driveway. Some homeowners put plywood down before delivery which can help minimize the possibility of scratches.
All roll-off sizes have a door on one end that swings open (usually to the right) for walk-in loading. Visit our pages on how to open a dumpster door to see how easy it is! For smaller sizes that aren't as tall like the 10 yard, 12 yard or 20 yard, many people just throw their junk in over the side. But for the larger sizes like the 30 yard and 40 yard, you'll have to use the door. You should always load heavier items on the bottom, and even out the weight so it's evenly distributed and not all in one end of the dumpster. Make sure you don't overfill the dumpster and keep all debris flat and level with the top so that it can be safely hauled away.
In most areas no, whether it's on your property or the street. A few cities will require a permit if you want to place the dumpster on the street, or on certain streets (like in busy areas like downtown). Permit requirements and costs vary by location. If you have to place your dumpster on the street, just check with us first. Many times we can handle the permit for you included in the rental, but in some cities you have to arrange it with the city yourself. We can let you know if this applies in your area.
