The only time you will pay more with Trash Daddy is if your dumpster goes over the weight limit after we haul it away—which isn’t common for most jobs. Landfills charge by weight, so heavier debris will increase your total cost with any company.
That’s why choosing the right dumpster size (and company) matters. Need help with that? Check out our Dumpster Sizes page, or view your local service area to see what’s available near you.
Note that the price ranges above are averages and will vary by area, size and type of material. See your service area page for more details.
Heavier materials like brick, dirt, or concrete will increase costs with any company, since landfills charge by weight. But in most cases, customers stay within the included limit and pay nothing extra.

There are three key things to pay attention to when renting a dumpster—because they can affect your total cost:
Don’t overfill the dumpster (nothing should stick out above the rim)
Don’t exceed the included weight limit
Don’t throw away prohibited items
We have a full list on our Prohibited Items page. Overloading or exceeding weight limits can result in extra charges—so reviewing these guidelines up front can help you avoid unexpected costs.
✔️ 10 yard – 1 ton (2000 lbs)
✔️ 12 yard – 1 ton
✔️ 15 yard – 1.5 tons
✔️ 20 yard – 2 tons
✔️ 30 yard – 3 tons
✔️ 40 yard – 4 tons
These are the most common weight limits we include in our flat-rate pricing across most service areas. In most cases, your actual dumpster will weigh less than the included limit—meaning no extra charges.
Some locations (like Las Vegas and others) include more weight by default. Check your local service area page for specific details.
Dumpsters should never be filled past the top edge. If debris is sticking out above the rim, we legally can’t haul it—meaning you may be charged a dry-run fee ($200) if the driver has to return later.
It’s critical to keep materials level with the top. This ensures safe transport and avoids extra costs or delays.
We want to make the process of renting a dumpster as quick, simple, and transparent as possible for you, at the best possible price.
