Dumpsters Near Me For Rent

If you are looking for a roll off dumpster rental, you may have searched on Google for "dumpsters near me for rent". You will notice a LOT of listings show up in the search results. A few years ago this wasn't the case. Today searching for dumpster rentals can display an overwhelming number of choices. So how do you pick the right company? In this article we will give you some tips to finding the best local dumpster rental company for you.

When looking at dumpster rental companies, you should consider these four things:

  • Are they a real company, or a leads provider
  • BEWARE the $199 dumpster rental scam
  • Does the company have a legitimate website and contact information. Do they tell you who they are and/or have pictures of their team
  • Check for Google reviews (other reviews can be faked)

The more boxes a company checks relating to these points, the higher of a chance you are dealing with a fair, legtimate company. Let's dig into each one.

Are they a real company, or a leads provider?

You are probably saying to yourself "how would I know". And we are here to tell you. 🧐

When you search for "dumpsters near me for rent", many of the companies that show up are actually leads providers. What that means is they are not real dumpster rental companies, and they don't know the dumpster rental business. Instead, what they do is they advertise on Google, and then when they have an interested customer, they look for a dumspter rental company to sell that customer (or lead) to.

Note: just because this happens doesn't mean these leads providers are a problem. We would recommend to stay away from them, mainly because they don't know the industry and you might end up paying higher costs as a result. But you might not. Some of them may connect you with a great company. We are just making you aware that they exist. Any time you can work with an experienced company with an experienced team, it almost always means a better customer experience.

Dumpsters near me for rent - BEWARE the $199 dumpster rental scam

In the last few years, ads are popping up all over Google and Facebook offering a dumspter rental for $199, or some amount close to that. You should be VERY suspicious of any of these companies. We wrote a separate article about the $199 dumpster rental if you want to take a look. The bottom line is either these companies are scammers, or they are drawing you in with false advertising only to give you real price after you reach out.

  • Many of these companies are outright scammers. We have documented proof of several of them, because at Trash Daddy we have been helping out customers who were already scammed. Be especially careful of the ones that are only on Facebook with no legitimate website.
  • A few are legitimate companies, but they engage in false advertising by getting you to call them. Once you do, they tell you the REAL price, which is going to be closer to the average of $500, and often it will be more than that. They make up some excuse to tell you like "oh the $199 is only for the small commercial dumpsters you see in front of a business", even though you were not searching for that (and they know it). Personally I would be hesitant to do business with a company that draws customers in based on misleading information.

At Trash Daddy, we have been in the dumpster rental business for over 15 years. We are not aware of any company anywhere renting the large roll off dumpsters for less than $350. And the average price is closer to $500 almost everywhere. So if you see any company promising you a price of less than $400, you should carefully scrutinize the company.

Does the company have a legitimate website and contact info?

So how do you know if a company is a legitimate dumpster rental company, or not? An easy way is to carefully review their website and contact information. Do they have a professional looking site? Or is it just one or two pages? Does it look like it took 24 hours to put up? Are there pictures of their team, describing their experience? Do they have a local number or ONLY an 800 number? Is their email something like "joesdumpsters123@gmail.com"? A simple, plain, non-detailed website with limited contact information should be a red flag.

If you want to see an example of a legitimate dumpster rental company, take a look at our team on our about us page!

Check to see if the company has GOOGLE reviews, NOT other reviews

This is not to say that other reviews cannot be real or are not valid. But other reviews can be faked, or made up. Google, on the other hand, verifies their reviews. It is difficult to put up fake Google reviews. Although it's not impossible for Google reviews to be fake also, it's MUCH more unlikely.

For example, take a look at our over 400 verified Google reviews.
