The 10 yard dumpster is ideal for projects with limited space or when you're disposing of heavy materials like concrete, brick, or dirt. Its compact footprint fits in tight driveways and narrow spaces where larger dumpsters won't work. Keep in mind that smaller dumpsters don't mean significantly lower costs—the price difference to move up a size is usually small, and 10 yard dumpsters fill up faster than most people expect.

10 yard dumpster dimensions

How big is a 10 yard dumpster?

A 10 yard dumpster is a waste container that measures approximately 11 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 3.5 feet tall.  It can hold up to 10 cubic yards of trash, which is equivalent to around 4 pickup truck loads.  Note: in some areas this size can be longer - 16 or so feet long, but shorter like 2.5 to 3 feet.

Weight limit: 1 ton included in price (in most areas)

Best for: Dense material like concrete, brick, or dirt where weight limits matter more than volume. Also ideal for small cleanouts, garage clearing, or small renovation projects.

How much is a 10 yard dumpster?

The price for a 10 yard ranges from $395 to $525, depending on the area of the country where it's delivered.  Dumpster prices can change frequently as they are directly tied to local economic prices for fuel, landfill rates, and more.  Check prices quickly by using our online ordering page, or by giving us a call or using our live chat.

What fits in a 10 yard dumpster?

A 10 yard dumpster is best for small-scale cleanups. It typically holds:

  • A few pieces of old furniture (sofa, chairs, small tables)
  • 1–2 rooms’ worth of remodeling debris (drywall, flooring, carpet)
  • A few small appliances (washer, dryer, microwave)
  • Yard waste such as branches, leaves, and shrubs
  • Heavy materials in limited amounts (like roofing shingles, dirt, or concrete)

What does a 10 yard dumpster look like?

A 10 yard looks similar to the larger dumpsters, but it's much shorter in length.  The height of a 10 yard can vary across the country with some being around 3 feet high to some being closer to 4 feet.  Take a look at a few 10 yard dumpsters below:
